I'm also writing a thesis,but in Theories of New Media, and I'm very much involved in Theories of Perception. Anyway, I use a number of books about psychoanalytical theory. In my opinion, Lacan and Deleuze opened some very interesting problems, how modern society pushes a persons' mind into schizophrenia/schizophrenic thinking and acting. The another interesting problem is, how computer-era influences person's mind.

Reply:I am a psyhchology graduate from the philippines, and the title of my thesis then,was The used of Music in reducing the \anxiety amomng Pre-school children. It is very ineresting for me because I really love kids. Hope I have given you a wonderful idea.
Reply:In Psychology the only thing I can think of that you can do with historical methods is to either do a comprehensive study on a psychologist or a particular theory of psychology. I'm in the process of writing a historical dissertation, but in the field of higher education. What I can tell you about historical research methods it is that they are quite time consuming because you spends lots of time in archives in a variety of places (can get costly). For my social work thesis I did a single-case study, which was less time consuming and more interesting (for me).
