I'm curious. I have noticed since I went on the pill a decade ago I haven't been able to lose weight. I'm HUGE. My husband %26amp; I aren't that active so I really could chart out when the best time would be. We do hope to have children so it wouldn't be a problem but we aren't planning on it soon. What do you think? I am charting my periods. I need to research the rhythm method.
Does anyone practice the rhythm method of birth control?
This method is on average less effective than a condom. Fertility based birth control methods are only about 80% effective at preventing pregnancy, even with the help of a doctor, and condoms are 85% effective, at least.
If you've experienced weight gain with your current birth control, discuss a different option with your doctor.
Unless you want to be parents, I wouldn't recommend the "rhythm method" to anyone as their sole form of birth control. If you want to read about the different methods, however, click in the link in my sources box.
Reply:Me and my sisters (there's three in total) are all products of the rhythm method. I wouldn't trust it!
Reply:I would suggest you use the rhythm method when you are ready to conceive--that's why there are so many Catholic children. The first time you forget what day it is or your body gets out of rhythm, Gazaam. . .
Reply:no this was put out by religious origination who wanted their people to have moor children so collection day there would moor money in the plate b/c of moor children also done for the poer of the votes this mob owned the only condom factory at the time so there wer less voters going against these people that practised this method had in those days had 8 children or moor the other mob had two so the votes went against the two group by 4 to 1 i rest my case if you x this when they first started this brillant idea each child woul have x by 8 times the 2nd round if they all had 8= 64 good method x that after 40 years what have y gota lot of votes a lot of money in the plate .smart thinking
Reply:I'm not a woman, so I couldn't really tell you which time during your cycle that you are 100% safe (except during your period). from my understanding of the female menstrual cycle, there is only a certain window of opportunity where your eggs are in a position where they are capable of being fertilized. also, since you are married you may benefit if you both go and get checked for fertility. all the dancing around the calander for sex can be avoided and you can see a doctor about increasing fertility when that time comes. or you could just do what me and my girlfend do. i daily consume a large amount of cannabis and then we use the pullout method. we like it cause the cumshots are fun and all the pot keeps my sperm count temporarily lowered (for a month max, sperm count level returns back to normal once the thc leaves your system).
Reply:That's how my parents had me :-)
My mom got pregnant in 2 months. If you're really good about charting and very conservative (avoid 7 days before expected ovulation and 4 days after confirmed ovulation) then maybe it would work. If you don't want to to take any kind of hormone pills, and you do want to have children in the future, why not just use condoms?
The rhythm method may work but it seems like a MUCH bigger hassle to follow than just using condoms.
Reply:All i can say that if you want to have cihldren use this method as it is not always effective. what about trying condoms and foam or a diaphragm? You should also be checked for any hormonal imbalances at your doctor's office if you have noticed that you've gained a pile of weight- maybe due to hormonal imbalance MAY be
