I am in my final year at uni, and am looking to go on to do a MSc in Research methods and then go on to do a PhD. What is it like doing a PhD? Is there a lot more work than at undergraduate level? What kind of things do you do during a PhD? I would really like some advice on what it is like doing a PhD!
P.S. I am a UK student.
What is like doing a PhD in the psychology field??
I'm in Canada, I did a Master's in Psych and am now doing a PhD. I found the Master's level much, much more challenging than the PhD. I had NO time to myself, was really challenged intellectually and basically worked for 12-15 hours a day. With both, the hardest part, I guess, was really just getting into the university I was interesting in attending. Basically, at the PhD level, you take courses, do an internship or produce a publishable empirical study and do a thesis. Not sure what else you are interested in knowing...hope what I've said helps :-).
Reply:It is very confusing
Reply:I'm a PhD student- UK, well you will find out the the undergraduate study is nothing- PhD is about to contribution something new to the academic and practical knowledge by intensive researches and readings in order to invent a good idea or solution for a problem its very interesting yes i encourage you to do it .. yes it has a special flavour.. mate go go go and do it. g luck
