Scar removal methods?

I am considering having a "tummy tuck" and realize that there is scarring involved. I've done just a bit of research on "scar removal" procedures and methods and my head is swimming! Does anyone know of a method that sincerely works?

* Dermabrasion: Scar removal by using a spinning wheel device. The dermabrasion takes off the upper layer of the skin and leaves smoother surface with no scars.
